STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIPS TO COMBAT MALNUTRITION: NSN Katsina State Chapter Visits MSF

On March 31, 2026, the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN), Katsina State Chapter, paid an advocacy visit to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Katsina State to strengthen collaboration in addressing malnutrition.

During the visit, the NSN Katsina state team commended MSF for its outstanding contributions to reducing the nutrition crisis in the state, particularly through its role in providing curative care for children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM). The Chairman of NSN Katsina state chapter also highlighted the importance of MSF’s technical support to the State Government, especially in the establishment of 60 Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP) centres across 12 Local Government Areas.

The team further briefed MSF on the upcoming Annual Workshop in Katsina State themed: “Strengthening the Nutritionist and Dietitian Profession in the Healthcare System in Katsina State.” The workshop aims to bring together key stakeholders, health professionals, academia, and development partners to foster knowledge sharing and enhance collaboration for improved nutrition outcomes.

In response, the MSF Project Coordinator commended the NSN Katsina State Chapter for initiating the engagement, emphasizing its importance in strengthening partnerships and achieving meaningful progress in the fight against malnutrition in the state.
