Conference Overview

The Nutrition Society of Nigeria invites  Nutritionists, Dietitians, Food Scientists and other related professionals from Tertiary Institutions, Health Institutions, Research  Institutes, Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, Industries, Development Partners and Organized Private Sector and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to its 53rd  Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference scheduled to hold in Abuja, Nigeria.

We welcome extended and structured abstracts that are in line with the theme and sub-themes of the conference. The abstract should be typed in a Microsoft Word document of not more than 2 pages of A4 paper size. Line spacing should be 1.5 points but single (1.0) line spacing can be used for tables if necessary. Times New Roman and font size 12 should be used. The page margins should be set at Normal (Top = 2.35cm, Bottom = 2.54cm, Left = 2.54cm and Right = 2.54cm). Authors are strongly advised to follow the abstract template and submission procedures available at GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF EXTENDED ABSTRACT

Abuja is located within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Nigeria.   It is a planned city known for its modern architecture, wide boulevards, and green spaces. It became the capital in 1991 due to its central location and potential for development. Abuja is home to many important government buildings and institutions and international organizations, making it a popular destination for international conferences and events. The city offers a range of accommodation options and is served by Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, connecting it to major cities across Africa and beyond.

Abuja is home to many important government buildings and institutions, including the Nigerian National Assembly, the Supreme Court of Nigeria, and the Nigerian Presidential Complex at Aso rock, which houses the residence and offices of the President of Nigeria. The city is also home to many local and international non-governmental organisations and is a popular destination for international conferences and events.

In 2019, the annual general meeting and scientific conference of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) was successfully hosted in Abuja by the FCT chapter of the NSN, and in September 2023 the city is set to receive delegates and conference participants once again.
