In commemoration of World Food Day 2026, The NSN Nasarawa State Chapter, in collaboration with the Nutrition and Dietetics Department of the Federal University Teaching Hospital Lafia (FUTHL), organized a nutrition campaign and practical food demonstration sessions at the Antenatal Care (ANC) and Nutrition Clinics.
Mothers were educated on preparing healthy meals using a variety of locally available grains, legumes, and vegetables. They also received practical guidance on formulating nutritious complementary food blends, particularly Tom Brown, using millet, soya beans, and groundnuts to support appropriate infant and young child feeding.
Pregnant women and caregivers were also guided on how to use readily available local ingredients from various food groups such as sweet potatoes, leafy vegetables and Crayfish.
