On August 7th, 2025, Médecins du Monde, in collaboration with NSN Katsina State Chapter, Rahama Foundation, and the dedicated staff of the Comprehensive Health Centre, Zango Local Government (Daura Zone), hosted an impactful community outreach as part of the World Breastfeeding Week 2025 celebrations.
The event focused on promoting, and supporting breastfeeding as an important foundation for child health and development.
Key Highlights of the program:
Practical demonstration on correct breastfeeding positioning and attachment techniques.
Interactive educational sessions on exclusive breastfeeding and its benefits for both mother and child, addressing family and social challenges affecting breastfeeding.
Question-and-answer session where caregivers engaged directly with experts for nutrition counseling.
The outreach created an enabling environment for mothers to learn, and share experiences. The collaboration between humanitarian organisations, nutrition advocates, and community health workers in Katsina State demonstrated a strong commitment to improving maternal and child health outcomes.
