The Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) invites nominations from qualified and committed members to serve on the Electoral Committee for the 2026 elections.
1. Election into various offices of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria comes up during this year Annual Conference and Scientific Meeting slated for Lagos. Voting will be conducted electronically among those who are financially up-to-date as at 31st August 2026 and registered physical or virtual for the conference on or before 12 noon, Tue. 15th Sept. 2026.
2. The Electoral Committee in line with Article 9 (Election of Officers) of the Constitution of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria hereby invites qualified members to indicate their interest to vie for the various positions that will be vacant by this year AGM in writing to the Chairman Electoral Committee and copy the National General Secretary.
| Only members who have previously served on the National Executive Council and demonstrated proven leadership capacity shall be eligible for nomination to the office of President. |
3. The following offices will be contested for:
- The President
- Vice President (North & South)
- National General Secretary
- Assistant National General Secretary
- National Treasurer
- National Financial Secretary
- National Publicity Secretary
- Internal Auditor
- Two (2) Ex-Officio Members.
4. It should be noted that only up-to-date financial members are qualified to vote and be voted for, therefore, kindly check your financial record with the secretariat before the close of nomination. To be qualified for nomination, you must pay all outstanding financial obligation by 30th June 2026 and to be qualified for voting during AGM, you must pay all outstanding financial obligation by 31st August 2026 and be registered physically or virtually for the conference.
5. Letter of intent for any of the positions must reach the Chairman Electoral Committee not later than 30th June, 2026 as AGM will comes up in September, 2026.
6. Candidates for positions of President and Vice Presidents must send a 2- A4 page single spaced Policy Statement of their plans and programmes if elected. All other candidates must write one page on their Vision Statement for NSN.
- The two (2) Vice Presidents shall be nominated on the basis of geopolitical zones (North and South)
- Current members of Council shall be eligible to contest their current position or any other position if they
indicate interest and are qualified to do so. - If there is only one candidate for a position at the close of nomination that individual shall be considered to
have been elected unopposed. - All letters of policy, intent, visions, manifestos, and enquiries should be sent via mail to Prof. Olumuyiwa
