The NSN FCT State Chapter conducted nutrition assessments for 24 children under five at Karomajigi Community, identifying two children with severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and four with moderate acute malnutrition (MAM). The affected children received counselling, MMP packs, and 500 g of Tom Brown.
The outreach also encouraged the use of locally available foods and home gardening to improve household nutrition. Food items were distributed which comprises of 1.5 kg of rice, 500 g of brown beans, 250 g of salt, three eggs, and 125 g of vegetable oil, alongside seeds for planting, including okra, ugu, bell pepper, and maize, to 254 participants.
Tom Brown was also provided to families with children aged 6–12 months to support appropriate complementary feeding.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support, commitment, and invaluable contributions of NSN FCT Members and collaboration of Partners/NGOs (31 in attendance)
