The Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN), Jigawa State Chapter, under the coordination of its Chairman, Mahmud Shuaibu and the Exco commemorated World Food Day 2026 through public awareness and community outreach activities across Jigawa State.
The activities included an awareness rally and visits to food markets, the Emirate Council, eateries, and food vendors. Participants included nutrition professionals, students, health workers, and security personnel. The public was sensitized on the importance of adequate nutrition, food safety, and proper food hygiene.
The awareness rally also emphasized healthy feeding practices, prevention of malnutrition, and the importance of collaboration among traditional institutions, health professionals, food vendors, and community members in promoting food and nutrition security.
The celebration provided an important platform for community engagement and strengthened the visibility of the Nutrition Society of Nigeria, Jigawa State Chapter, in promoting healthy eating and improved public health.
