In celebration of World Food Day 2025, themed “Hand-in-Hand for Better Food and a Better Future,” the NSN Cross River State Chapter, hosted a dynamic week of activities promoting healthy eating, active living, and nutrition education across Calabar.
The celebration kicked off with exciting daily nutrition challenges on social media, where participants engaged in fun, practical habits from staying hydrated and adding more fruits and vegetables to their meals, to increasing protein and nut consumption, and embracing regular physical activity.
The highlight of the week was a lively Community Fitness and Advocacy Walk around the University of Calabar campus and neighboring areas. Participants interacted with local food vendors and residents, sharing easy, affordable tips on healthy eating and balanced nutrition.
Nutrition education, and community service blended together are the initiatives that demonstrates NSN’s ongoing commitment to building nutrition awareness and encouraging healthier lifestyles among Nigerians.
The Cross River State Chapter reiterated its dedication to working hand-in-hand with communities and partners to build a healthier, more food-secure future and to continue driving nutrition outreach throughout the year.
