The Nutrition Drive for Healthy Diet Initiative (NDDI), a registered non-governmental organization, in partnership with the Nutrition Society of Nigeria (NSN) is pleased to announce the 2025 NSN Emerging Scientist Awards.
Award Purpose: The Emerging Nutrition Scientist Awards aim to recognize and encourage outstanding research contributions by young scientists in the field of nutrition in Nigeria.
Objectives:
•Promote excellence in nutrition research among young scientists.
•Foster innovation and creativity in addressing nutrition-related challenges.
•Strengthen the scholarly competencies of early career nutrition professionals.
Award Details:
•Title: Emerging Nutrition Scientist Awards
•Prize: ₦200,000 and recognition at the NSN conference for the top two awardees.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Must be a member of the NSN with up-to-date financial dues.
• Must be a current graduate student or within 3 years of obtaining their PhD or MSc degree, respectively.
• Must be 40 years of age or younger.
• Must be resident in Nigeria.
Submission Procedure:
Interested applicants are required to submit the following documents to the NSN designated email:

1. Two Letters of Recommendation: one from the applicant’s NSN State Chapter Chairperson and one from the applicant’s current work or institutional supervisor.
2. Nationally recognized document or ID with birthdate details
3. Institutional ID or certificate indicating current graduate studies registration or MSc or PhD graduation (within the last 3 years).
4. Curriculum Vitae (CV): Detailed and updated CV (see template below).
5. Personal Statement: A comprehensive personal statement (maximum of 2 pages), outlining the applicant’s accomplishments in nutrition research, leadership roles, and future career aspirations.
6. Proof of Membership: Evidence of current NSN membership with up-to-date financial dues.
